Oak Over Main is an elevated rooftop retreat situated in the heart of downtown Highlands, North Carolina. Four thoughtfully designed lofts each with their own private patio surround a central rooftop garden and outdoor space overlooking Highlands’ Main Street. Defined by a "Mountain Modern" aesthetic, the architecture honors the building’s original steel structure, featuring exposed pillars and beams that provide a sophisticated, urban foundation.
To balance this industrial edge, the interiors are curated with an "elevated cozy" sensibility. The design integrates rich textures—including wood, wool, and leather—alongside bespoke furnishings and light fixtures crafted by local artisans. Most of the featured artwork was sourced directly from North Carolina artists, grounding the space in the cultural history of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
